Ruby von Rethem is a stunning 3 year old German Shepherd mix. Ruby wants you to know that there is a ruby in Thailand so dark that it looks black. She likes to think that was the inspiration for her name. Her coat is more of a plush coat that is like velvet, everyone wants to run their fingers through it. She is not a huge girl, but well built and ready for any adventure that might come her way, even though she is happy to chill by your side as well.  She takes the bustle of a busy adoption event at the rescue all in stride. A total love bug, Ruby thrives off affection from her people. Give her some reassurance and this lovely girl becomes your best friend, offering a sweet paw or a gentle kiss. Housebroken and mid energy, she takes in all the sights and smells on walks, and will settle in near you afterwards to relax. Her easygoing nature would make her the perfect work-from-home office companion. In playgroup, she greets dogs gently and mingles comfortably, and she even tested well with cats. With her gleaming black velvet coat and radiant personality, Ruby is a total gem waiting to bring a sparkle to her new home.
